West Ham United midfielder Mohammed Kudus delivered another outstanding performance on Saturday as the Hammers fought back to claim a 2–1 victory over Brighton at the London Stadium.
Brighton took the lead early in the first half through a well-worked team move finished by João Pedro, but West Ham regained control of the match after the break. Manager David Moyes’ side came out with more urgency, pressing higher and attacking with greater intensity.
The equaliser came in the 56th minute when Kudus beat his marker with brilliant footwork before delivering a dangerous cross that forced an own goal from Lewis Dunk. The Ghanaian international continued to dominate the right flank, combining pace, flair, and intelligent positioning to trouble Brighton’s defence throughout the second half.
West Ham completed the comeback in the 78th minute after Jarrod Bowen tucked home a rebound from a long-range strike by Lucas Paquetá. The goal sent the home crowd into a frenzy as the Hammers pushed hard to secure all three points.
Kudus was later voted Man of the Match by the club’s supporters, receiving praise for his creativity, ball progression, and relentless work rate. The 24-year-old has now contributed to four goals in West Ham’s last five matches, further establishing himself as one of the most influential African players in the Premier League this season.
Speaking after the game, manager David Moyes said:
“Kudus has been fantastic. He brings quality, confidence, and energy. He’s becoming a very important player for us.”
The victory lifts West Ham to seventh place in the league standings as they continue their push for European football.
Ghanaian fans have reacted positively across social media, celebrating Kudus’ form and urging him to maintain his momentum as the Black Stars prepare for upcoming international fixtures.
