The Member of Parliament ,(MP) for Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency, Hon.Shirley Kyei has donated over 210 streetlights, LED bulbs, and cutlasses to assembly members to be distributed to the 21 electoral areas to address the lighting system and security challenges in the area.
Among the 210 streetlights distributed, each assembly member had 10 to be used in their respective electoral areas. The initiative came about when Market women expressed their concern towards streetlights in the market where her outfit gave them 20 bulbs and have assures of supporting all the market with streetlights to prevent, crime and any bad occurrences that may arise in the market.

Adding that the Rationale behind the donations is to fix all abundant and spoiled streetlights in the constituency especially streetlights in the electoral areas to enable communities, within the district to get brighter to aid easy movement, and prevent unfortunate theft incidents during night hours.
Speaking in an Interview with the media after providing the items to the assemblyman, MP Shirley Kyei said the streetlights would provide illumination to all roads and areas in the Constituency, market centers, and also discourage miscreants from other areas from engaging in nefarious activities.
” Am passionate about developing Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency, so these attempt forms part of the promise to make sure issues related to security are intact, since community members can have access to light at night without encountering any challenges”. She lamented.
Handing over the items Hon. Kyei said the move was part of the broader effort to enhance security and boost confidence in the district.

She explained that the initiative was to illuminate communities, reduce crime, and promote a sense of safety among residents, and emphasized the importance of the initiative, adding that the approach will ensure that our communities are safe and secure for everyone, the streetlights will go a long way in brightening our streets and reducing the risk of criminal activities.
She assured that ,her outfit and the district assembly under the office of government would continue to work tirelessly to improve infrastructure development and provide essential services to the people to improve their lives.
Receiving the items, the Municipal Chief Executive for Atwima Nwabiagya South District Hon. Wisdom Osei Boamah also known as (OKUMKUM) expressed excitement and gratitude to the MP for the support unleashed on all the electoral areas.
According to him, the Assembly will work closely with the MP to bring development, and infrastructure to the doorstep of Atwima Nwabiagya South District.
He added that the MP donation of streetlights has demonstrated the commitment by the District t to improve the lives of its residents and promote development in the area.
On his part, Assembly Member for Bankyease, Hon. Yusif Yahaya said the donations will go a long way to bring a safer and more secure environment to community members.
