Assembly Members of the Tano North Municipal Assembly applaud John Dramani Mahama for settling nine months’ allowance arrears

Assembly Members of the Tano North Municipal Assembly have expressed heartfelt appreciation to the President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, for the full payment of their nine months’ outstanding allowances.

Led by the Presiding Member, Hon. Boakye Michael Houston, the Assembly Members described the payment as a timely intervention that has brought significant relief and renewed motivation to representatives working at the grassroots level to promote local governance and community development.

Hon. Boakye Michael Houston noted that the President’s commitment to strengthening decentralization and empowering Assembly Members is deeply commendable. According to him, the gesture reflects the government’s dedication to accountability and the welfare of local representatives.

The Assembly also extended profound gratitude to the Municipal Chief Executive for Tano North, Pius Sampson Opoku, for ensuring the smooth and transparent disbursement of the funds to all beneficiaries without delay. They praised his leadership, coordination, and sense of duty, describing the process as seamless and highly commendable.

The members collectively thanked the President and the MCE for responding positively to their concerns regarding the prolonged delay in payment. They further assured both leaders of their continued commitment to serving their communities with integrity, diligence, and loyalty.

With the release of the arrears, the Assembly Members say they are reinvigorated and ready to intensify development efforts aimed at improving the living conditions of people within the municipality.
