Dzifa Tegah champions women empowerment at National Young Women Leaders Summit

Deputy National Women’s Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Dzifa Tegah, has called for increased female participation in leadership, urging women to take up decision-making roles at all levels of society.

She made the call while speaking at the National Young Women Leaders Summit and the launch of the NUGS Women Podcast, an event aimed at promoting women’s empowerment and leadership development.

According to Dzifa Tegah, empowering women to occupy leadership positions is essential to ensuring that their voices are heard and their concerns adequately addressed. She noted that her role within the NDC largely revolves around mobilizing women, encouraging their active participation in politics, and supporting their quest for leadership positions.

She stressed that the persistent underrepresentation of women in leadership has contributed to gaps in policies affecting women and girls, limiting their influence in shaping important decisions at both institutional and national levels.

The Deputy National Women’s Organizer further encouraged young women to embrace leadership opportunities wherever they find themselves, whether in schools, religious organizations, community groups, or professional spaces.

“Leadership should not be viewed only from a national perspective. Every platform presents an opportunity to lead, influence change, and advocate for issues that matter to women,” she stated.

Dzifa Tegah described the summit as a significant platform for inspiring the next generation of female leaders, expressing optimism that such initiatives would help build confidence among young women and encourage them to participate actively in governance and public service.

The National Young Women Leaders Summit and the launch of the NUGS Women Podcast brought together young women, student leaders, policymakers, and advocates to discuss strategies for advancing women’s leadership and amplifying their voices in national development.
