The Atwima Mponua District Assembly has successfully held a major sod-cutting ceremony to launch education and health infrastructure projects across the district. The event which took place on Monday,16th February 2026, marked a significant step toward improving social services in beneficiary communities.
The ceremony was led by the District Chief Executive for Atwima Mponua, Hon Ibrahim Issahak. Community members, traditional leaders and stakeholders gathered at the various locations to witness the commencement of the much-needed development projects.

Two key projects were officially launched during the exercise:
- A Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) at Wansanbire which will be executed by Prudent Link Company Limited.
- A 6-unit classroom block with ancillary facilities at Agogoso which will be executed by Belco Heavy Equipment and Construction Limited.
In an interview with the media, Hon Ibrahim Issahak said the projects form part of government’s broader agenda to expand educational infrastructure and strengthen primary healthcare systems especially in rural communities.

He noted that the facilities will be completed within a space of eight (8) months and one completed will create a more conducive environment for learning and ensure accessible healthcare for all.
The Assembly member for Agogoso electoral area expressed gratitude to the DCE and also assured that residents would monitor the contractors closely to ensure timely completion and quality work.

Community members expressed excitement and relief, describing the projects will improve opportunities for children and enhance healthcare delivery.
