Building the Ghana we want – MCE Hon. Joseph Amankwah leads initiatives for better roads and schools

On December 18, 2025, the Kwabre East Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Joseph Amankwah, led a momentous series of sod-cutting ceremonies, marking a significant milestone in the municipality’s infrastructure development journey. These projects, spanning education and transport, underscore the government’s unwavering commitment to enhancing the quality of life for residents and fostering sustainable growth and prosperity in the area.

The day’s activities kicked off with the formal sod-cutting for the construction of the road linking Fawoade through Louis Agyemang to Yasore Junction. This critical infrastructure project is poised to significantly enhance transportation and connectivity in the region, facilitating the movement of people, goods, and services, and opening up new economic opportunities for local communities.

The delegation then proceeded to Asenua-Yasore, where they broke ground for a new three-unit kindergarten classroom block, set to provide a safe, modern, and conducive learning environment for young children in the township. This initiative reflects the government’s emphasis on early childhood education as a foundation for lifelong learning and development.

The day’s events concluded in Abira, where Hon. Amankwah launched the construction of a new six-unit classroom block, complete with a modern office and store. This state-of-the-art facility is expected to significantly enhance the educational infrastructure in Abira, providing students with a conducive and supportive learning environment that fosters academic excellence.

In his remarks, Hon. Amankwah emphasized that these projects are a testament to the government’s vision, as articulated by His Excellency John Dramani Mahama, to “build the Ghana we want” – a nation where quality education is accessible to every child, and where robust infrastructure underpins sustainable development and prosperity for all.
