The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. Christian Tetteh Yohuno, accompanied by members of the Police Management Board (POMAB), has paid a courtesy call on the Oti Regional Minister, Hon. John Kwadwo Gyapong, as part of the Police Administration’s working visit to the Oti Region.
The meeting focused on strengthening collaboration between the Ghana Police Service and the Regional Coordinating Council to enhance security and public safety across the region.
Hon. John Kwadwo Gyapong praised the Ghana Police Service for its dedication to maintaining peace and security in the Oti Region, particularly its efforts in combating armed robbery and other criminal activities. He acknowledged the professionalism of officers serving in the region and encouraged them to sustain their commitment to protecting lives and property.
The Regional Minister also appealed to the Police Administration to deploy additional personnel and provide more operational vehicles to improve policing and boost the Service’s capacity to respond swiftly to security threats. He further urged the Police to remain resolute in tackling crime and ensuring that offenders are brought to justice.
Responding to the Minister’s concerns, IGP Christian Tetteh Yohuno reaffirmed the Ghana Police Service’s commitment to supporting the Oti Region with effective policing. He assured the Minister that the Police Administration would continue to strengthen its operational presence in the region and intensify efforts to combat crime.
The IGP emphasized that the Service remains committed to maintaining law and order, safeguarding communities, and ensuring the safety and security of all residents. He noted that the Police have a strong presence on the ground and will continue working tirelessly to prevent crime and bring perpetrators before the law.
The courtesy call forms part of the Police Administration’s broader engagement with regional stakeholders aimed at enhancing cooperation, addressing security challenges, and improving policing across the country.
