NPP activist George Krobea Asante has challenged claims by Musa Superior, a leading member of John Boadu’s campaign team, questioning Boakye Agyarko’s status as a founding member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement titled “Setting the Record Straight: Musa Superior Cannot Rewrite NPP History,” Krobea Asante accused Musa Superior of circulating what he described as a false claim that Boakye Agyarko is not a founding member of the NPP.
According to Krobea Asante, support for a particular candidate in the Party’s ongoing internal contest does not give anyone the right to distort or rewrite the history of the NPP.
He maintained that Boakye Agyarko’s founding membership and longstanding contribution to the development and sustenance of the Party are matters that cannot be erased for political or campaign convenience.
Krobea Asante further stated that Agyarko’s contribution to the NPP should not be dependent on the approval of Musa Superior or any other political camp.
He said evidence accompanying his statement should be examined by Musa Superior and his colleagues, urging them to address the matter and correct what he considers to be an inaccurate account of the Party’s history.
“Campaign on your candidate’s merits. The NPP’s history is not yours to rewrite,” Krobea Asante stated.
