July 11, 2026 | Afigya Sekyere East, Ashanti Region
A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Afigya Sekyere East Constituency, Lawyer Barima Sarpong, has appealed to aspirants, delegates and party supporters to uphold peace, unity and mutual respect ahead of the Constituency Executive Elections scheduled for Sunday, July 12, 2026.
In a statement released on Friday, Lawyer Sarpong congratulated all aspirants who have offered themselves for service, describing their decision as a reflection of courage, commitment and dedication to the growth of the party.
He noted that the elections should not be viewed as a battle among individuals, but rather as a process aimed at strengthening the party’s structures and reinforcing the values and principles of the New Patriotic Party.

Call for Peace, Unity and Respect
Lawyer Sarpong outlined three key principles he believes should guide the elections:
- Peace and Orderliness: He urged all stakeholders to ensure the process is conducted in a peaceful, transparent and credible manner while respecting the Elections Committee and the choice of delegates.
- Unity After the Elections: He called on members to put aside differences immediately after the polls, stressing that there should be no divisions or bitterness as the party works towards the 2028 General Elections.
- Respectful Campaigning: He cautioned against insults, personal attacks and misinformation, encouraging aspirants and supporters to focus on ideas, solutions and the development of the constituency.
“Leadership is About Service”
The NPP stalwart reminded all aspirants that true leadership goes beyond holding an elected position, emphasizing the importance of continued commitment and service to the party and the people.
“Whether victorious or otherwise, your contribution to the growth and development of Afigya Sekyere East remains invaluable,” he stated.
Lawyer Sarpong expressed optimism that through unity, dedication and collective effort, the NPP in Afigya Sekyere East will continue to set a positive example within the Ashanti Region and Ghana at large.
He concluded by wishing the party peaceful elections and called for God’s guidance and blessings upon the NPP, the constituency and the nation.
The NPP Constituency Executive Elections form part of efforts to strengthen the party’s grassroots structures ahead of the 2028 General Elections.
