A new modern slaughterhouse is being constructed in Nkawie, Atwima Nwabiagya South District, following a sod-cutting ceremony by Hon. Wisdom Osei Boamah on December 10, 2025. The facility aims to provide a sanitary and humane environment for livestock slaughter, enhancing food safety and animal welfare in the area.
The project is expected to create employment opportunities for residents and contribute to the local economy.
Speaking at the ceremony was the District Chief Executive, Hon. Wisdom Osei Boamah, expressed excitement about the project, highlighting its potential to improve livelihoods and provide a safe environment for meat consumers.
The Nkawie community has been advocating for improved infrastructure to support the livestock industry, and this new slaughterhouse is a significant step towards achieving that goal.
