The National Peace Council (NPC) has released its end-of-year message, expressing gratitude to God for Ghana’s stability amidst challenges. The Council thanks various stakeholders, including government, traditional rulers, and civil society, for contributing to the country’s peace and stability.

Key Highlights:

– Appreciation for Asantehene’s Role: The NPC commends the Asantehene for mediating the Bawku Chieftaincy conflict and presenting his report to the President on December 16, 2025.

– Customary Conflict Resolution: The Council notes that Ghana’s 1992 Constitution recognizes customary means of addressing conflicts, supported by the Alternative Dispute Resolution Act (2010) and National Peace Council Act (2011).

– Call for Peace in Bawku: The NPC appeals to Mamprusis and Kusasis to support peacebuilding efforts and rejuvenate the Bawku Inter-Ethnic Peace Committee (BIEPC).

– Message to Ghanaians: The Council urges citizens to maintain tolerance and coexist peacefully, regardless of political, religious, or ethnic background.

The NPC will continue working with Regional Security Councils and stakeholders to explore dialogue and transitional justice opportunities. May peace and unity bless Ghana this Christmas season! 🎄🇬🇭
