Ahead of the International Day of Education, Rose’s story reminds us of the transformative power of inclusive education.
Rose is a 13-year-old girl from Tantu whose future once seemed uncertain. Born with multiple disabilities, she faced stigma and barriers that threatened her right to education and her dreams.
Her story changed through a health screening organised by World Vision Ghana in collaboration with the Ghana Health Service. The intervention opened doors to the support Rose needed to begin a new chapter.
With access to learning materials and financial assistance, Rose is now enrolled at the Kpando-Agbanu Community Inclusive Special School, where she is learning with confidence and joy. In a nurturing environment that embraces inclusion, Rose is thriving and boldly pursuing her dream of becoming a fashion designer.
Rose’s journey shows what is possible when communities choose inclusion over exclusion and support over stigma.
This is the power of inclusive education. This is what happens when every child is given the chance to shine.
