The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Atwima Mponua District, Hon. Issahak Ibrahim, has announced that the 9-kilometre Gyereso Junction–Aboabo feeder road is currently undergoing major reshaping works as part of the Assembly’s ongoing efforts to improve road infrastructure across the district.
The intervention forms part of a broader strategy by the District Assembly to upgrade critical feeder roads that connect farming communities to market centres and essential services. According to the DCE, the project is aimed at enhancing accessibility, particularly for residents, farmers and traders who rely heavily on the stretch for their daily economic activities.

Hon. Ibrahim noted that the poor condition of the road had posed significant challenges to motorists and pedestrians, especially during the rainy season when sections become difficult to navigate. The ongoing reshaping works are expected to improve the road surface, ensure proper drainage and make transportation safer and more efficient.

He emphasized that improving the district’s road network remains a key priority of his administration, as good roads are vital for economic growth and social development. By easing the movement of goods and people, the project is anticipated to boost local trade, reduce travel time and transport costs, and improve access to healthcare and educational facilities.

The DCE reaffirmed his commitment to steadily addressing road challenges across Atwima Mponua, assuring residents that the Assembly will continue to roll out similar interventions in other communities to promote inclusive development and improve the overall quality of life in the district.
He called for the cooperation and patience of residents while the work progresses, stressing that the temporary inconveniences will yield long-term benefits for the entire district.
