The Member of Parliament for Sekyere Kumawu, Ernest Yaw Anim, participated in a capacity-building workshop on combating human trafficking organized by the International Justice Mission in partnership with the Human Rights Committee of the Parliament of Ghana.
The workshop sought to strengthen the knowledge, skills, and coordination mechanisms of key stakeholders in the fight against human trafficking. It forms part of ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration among policymakers, law enforcement agencies, and civil society actors to effectively address the menace.

Delivering his remarks as Chairman of the Human Rights Committee of Parliament, Hon. Anim underscored that human trafficking and child labour remain serious threats to the dignity, safety, and future of many citizens, particularly women and children.
He emphasized the urgent need for sustained legislative action, stronger oversight, and coordinated interventions to protect vulnerable persons. He reaffirmed Parliament’s commitment to intensifying efforts to combat what he described as a grave violation of human rights.

Hon. Anim assured participants that the Committee will continue to work closely with partners to strengthen Ghana’s legal and institutional frameworks in order to decisively tackle human trafficking and safeguard the rights of all citizens.
