The Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC) has inaugurated an Ethics and Admissions Committee for the AICETA Professional Course, following resolutions adopted at its 9th Annual Meeting held in November 2025 in Accra.
The decision stems from two key resolutions passed by Congress during the meeting. First, GITFiC resolved to expand the study of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) curriculum to include professionals and practitioners across Ghana and the wider African continent under the GITFiC-AfCFTA Professional Course. The programme is designed to serve learners at the pre-tertiary, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels across all sectors.
Second, Congress approved the development and submission of a specialized AfCFTA curriculum tailored to Africa’s high school structure. This new curriculum is expected to run concurrently with the existing AfCFTA curriculum for tertiary institutions.
In line with these mandates under the GITFiC Agenda 2031, the newly constituted Ethics and Admissions Committee has been empowered to enforce strict compliance with the AfCFTA Professional Course regulations. The Committee will oversee admissions processes, uphold academic standards, and safeguard the welfare of both students and facilitators.
Dr. Michael Kusi-Appiah of the National Development Planning Commission has been appointed Chair of the Committee.
He will be joined by Dr. Samuel Antwi of the Information Service Department under the Office of the President, and Madam Patience Arko-Boham of the Ministry of Finance.
