The District Chief Executive for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has toured selected Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) centres across the district to motivate candidates as they begin their final exams.
The visit, conducted on Monday, May 4, 2026, covered three centres and formed part of efforts to encourage students to stay confident, focused, and committed throughout the examination period.

Speaking to the candidates, Hon. Sedik urged them to trust in their preparation and approach each paper with determination. He also reiterated his commitment to promoting academic excellence by announcing full scholarship packages for candidates who obtain Grade Six, expressing confidence in improved performance this year.
A total of 1,463 candidates are sitting for the examinations across five centres in the district. The DCE noted that the exercise has so far been smooth, with no reported cases of examination malpractice.

To support both candidates and examination officials, Hon. Sedik donated 20 cartons of bottled water and 10 cartons of assorted drinks. He also presented GH¢10,000 to cater for meals for invigilators and supervisors, allocating GH¢2,000 to each of the five centres.
The gesture has been widely praised by stakeholders, who described it as timely and impactful in creating a conducive environment for the exams.

The District Education Director, Mr. Justin Kwesi Gbotor, confirmed the smooth conduct of the examinations, noting that no malpractice cases have been recorded. He added that both candidates and officials reported early to their centres, ensuring orderliness throughout the process.

He further advised candidates to rely on their preparation, avoid malpractice, and give their best.
An examination supervisor, Rev. Michael Anane, also commended both candidates and officials for their discipline and cooperation, noting that all necessary materials were available to support the smooth running of the exams.
The DCE was accompanied by the Presiding Member, Hon. Paul Kwesi Amegboe, and the District Information Officer, Emmanuel Smart Amo, during the tour.
