The Atwima Mponua District Assembly has handed over a number of waste containers to the District Environmental Officer for distribution to beneficiary communities including Nyinahin Zongo, Nyinahin Market, Nyinahin Highways, Serebuorso, and Anyinamso No. 1 and 2.

The initiative follows the successful evacuation of long-standing refuse dumps in the affected areas, with the Assembly aiming to prevent the reoccurrence and excessive accumulation of waste by providing proper waste disposal containers.

The waste containers were procured through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF) as part of the Assembly’s ongoing commitment to promoting a cleaner, healthier, and more sanitary environment across Atwima Mponua.

District authorities say the intervention forms part of broader efforts to strengthen effective waste management and improve environmental sanitation within the district. The Assembly further assured residents of its commitment to extending similar support to more communities in the near future.
