Former MASLOC Chief Executive Officer Sedina Tamakloe Attionu has been extradited from the United States to Ghana following her conviction on more than 70 corruption-related charges.

According to authorities, the charges include the embezzlement of over $6 million equivalent in Ghanaian taxpayer funds during her tenure at the Microfinance and Small Loans Centre (MASLOC).

The extradition marks a significant milestone in cooperation between Ghanaian and U.S. law enforcement agencies, highlighting their shared commitment to fighting corruption and ensuring accountability.

Officials describe the development as a testament to the strong partnership between the two countries in combating financial crimes. It is also the first extradition from the United States to Ghana since 2009, underscoring renewed efforts to pursue justice across international borders.

Authorities say the move sends a strong message that individuals accused or convicted of financial misconduct cannot evade justice by relocating abroad.
