The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, has reaffirmed government’s strong commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of children across Ghana, emphasizing the critical role of partnerships in achieving sustainable impact.
Speaking at the launch of World Vision Ghana’s 2026–2030 Strategy, the Minister highlighted the organization’s longstanding contribution to child protection, education, health, and economic empowerment in the country.

She noted that government efforts to advance child welfare and women’s empowerment are aligned with global frameworks such as the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, stressing that collaboration with development partners remains essential in delivering meaningful outcomes.
According to the Minister, the Ministry has worked closely with World Vision Ghana to implement key national policies, including the Child and Family Welfare Policy, aimed at strengthening protection systems and improving the lives of vulnerable children.

She revealed that through this partnership, significant strides have been made in establishing and operationalizing Child Protection Committees, training Social Welfare officers, and enhancing community-based child protection mechanisms nationwide.
The collaboration has also supported the reintegration of children from residential care into safe family environments while improving early detection and response to cases of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.

The Minister further highlighted nationwide awareness campaigns led in partnership with World Vision Ghana to combat child labour, child marriage, and trafficking, while promoting positive parenting practices and child rights advocacy.
Looking ahead, she underscored the importance of investing in inclusive and resilient systems that address the needs of the most vulnerable, including children with disabilities. She noted that the new strategy seeks to economically empower households, advance gender equality, and promote the rights of girls in line with Ghana’s development agenda for 2026–2030.

Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey called on stakeholders—including government agencies, civil society, development partners, and the private sector—to deepen collaboration and mobilize resources to achieve shared goals.
She reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to working closely with partners to ensure that every child in Ghana is protected, valued, and given the opportunity to thrive.
