Groupe Nduom pushing for reconciliation and recovery of funds locked up after GN Savings license revocation

Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, founder of Groupe Nduom, says efforts are underway to reconcile and recover funds locked up following the collapse of GN Savings and Loans.

Speaking at the press conference , Dr. Nduom recalled that former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and former Bank of Ghana Governor Dr. Ernest Addison had repeatedly assured customers that depositors of GN Savings would be paid after a receiver was appointed.

According to him, many individual customers may have already received payments through the receiver process, but concerns remain over funds belonging to Groupe Nduom companies and businesses that deposited money with the institution.

Dr. Nduom explained that several businesses under Groupe Nduom had substantial deposits with GN Savings before the institution’s license was revoked. However, those corporate funds have allegedly remained inaccessible since the shutdown.

He stated that the group is now taking steps to ensure the locked-up funds are recovered, stressing that the businesses also lost loans and other financial assets during the process.

Dr. Nduom further disclosed that he does not currently know the exact amount of money paid out by the receiver or the identities of all beneficiaries, indicating that a full reconciliation process is necessary.

He expressed optimism that the Bank of Ghana would cooperate with Groupe Nduom and the receiver to conduct proper accounting and reconciliation to determine outstanding balances and payments made.

Despite the challenges, Dr. Nduom maintained that the group remains committed to ensuring that all legitimate customer funds are addressed and resolved.
