The Ga East Municipality has officially launched the 24-Hour Clean Ga East Program, a comprehensive initiative aimed at improving sanitation, public health, and environmental sustainability across the municipality. The launch brought together assembly members, departmental heads, development partners, media representatives, and other key stakeholders to emphasize the importance of collective action in maintaining cleaner and healthier communities.
During the launch, Ing. Charles Asabre Ampomah highlighted the program as a renewed commitment by the Municipal Assembly to environmental stewardship. He explained that the initiative seeks to strengthen ongoing sanitation efforts, foster greater collaboration among stakeholders, and address persistent challenges affecting municipal cleanliness.

Promoting Shared Responsibility
Ing. Ampomah stressed that maintaining a clean and safe environment is a shared responsibility. While acknowledging the municipality’s past efforts in sanitation, he urged continued commitment from all stakeholders, including government officials, traditional authorities, community leaders, and residents. The program, operating on a 24-hour schedule, is designed to institutionalize routine sanitation practices rather than rely on occasional clean-up exercises.

Acknowledging Contributions
He commended the Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Edmund Agboh, and the management team for their leadership and dedication in bringing the program to fruition. He also recognized the contributions of development partners whose support has been critical to the initiative’s success. The collaborative approach, he noted, is central to achieving lasting results.

Call for Active Participation
Attendees were encouraged to actively support the program, with Ing. Ampomah emphasizing that the success of the 24-Hour Clean Ga East Program depends on the engagement and cooperation of all community members. A moment of reflection was observed during the event, reinforcing the municipality’s commitment to sustainable sanitation and public health outcomes.

The 24-Hour Clean Ga East Program represents a bold step toward building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable municipality. The initiative aims to set a benchmark for environmental management and civic responsibility in the Greater Accra Region, showcasing how coordinated efforts between local authorities, partners, and residents can transform public sanitation and enhance the quality of life for all.
