DCE Pledges Support for Islamic Education in Ahafo Ano South West

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for Ahafo Ano South West, Hon. Abubakar Sedik, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving Islamic education in the District by promising to facilitate the recruitment of Islamic teachers for Islamic schools in the District.

Speaking after the Eid al-Fitr celebration, Hon. Abubakar disclosed plans to meet with the Chief Imam to discuss practical steps toward deploying qualified Arabic teachers to support effective teaching and learning in Islamic institutions across the District.

He emphasised the importance of Islamic education in shaping moral values and promoting discipline among the youth, noting that the initiative forms part of his broader vision to ensure inclusive educational development in Ahafo Ano South West.

In a show of personal commitment, the DCE revealed that he is prepared to provide allowances for the teachers from his own resources to ensure the program’s sustainability.

According to him, this intervention will help address the shortage of Islamic instructors and enhance the teaching of Arabic in schools.

Hon. Abubakar further called on stakeholders, including religious leaders and community members, to support the initiative to ensure its success and long-term impact.

The move has been widely welcomed by residents, particularly within the Muslim community, who see it as a significant step toward strengthening Islamic education in the District.
